At Nicholas Ashton Education, our Little Journalists & Reporters Club is an exciting creative writing club designed to spark young writers’ skills across a range of different styles and formats. This club is perfect for students who love storytelling, enjoy exploring their imaginations, or want to develop a confident and adaptable writing style. Each session brings a new writing challenge, allowing students to explore different genres and techniques while having fun and building invaluable literacy skills.

What We Cover:

Each week, students take on a different writing project, keeping the sessions fresh, engaging, and full of creativity. Some of the themes include:

📰 News Reporting – Writing their own newspaper articles, covering current events, fictional breaking news, or even school-related stories.

✍️ Persuasive Writing – Crafting powerful letters to world leaders or local MPs on issues that matter, such as climate change or education policies.

📖 Adventure & Novel Writing – Developing their own gripping narratives, working on literary devices, character development, and interesting plot twists to create exciting tales.

📜 Diary Writing – Writing in the style of fictional characters, capturing emotions, perspectives, and narratives.

🏛 Historical Perspective Writing – Stepping into the shoes of famous historical figures, crafting diary entries, speeches, or letters as if they were living in their time period.

🗳 Opinion Pieces & Editorials – Learning how to structure arguments, develop strong viewpoints, and express their ideas clearly.

📚 Poetry & Creative Expression – Experimenting with rhythm, imagery, and language to craft beautiful and expressive poetry.
